When mountains get their first ski chairlifts, it is a special day. Both people and mountains rejoice. I'm a sucker for old ski advertisements (as previously posted) and footage as well. Check out this newsreel showcasing New Zealand's Mt. Ruapehu getting it's first chairlift in the 1950's/1960's. Mt. Ruapehu is New Zealand's largest ski area. Let's plan a trip, shall we?
